T.A.P. Telephone
Missouri's Telecommunication Access Program (TAP-T) provides equipment to qualifying individuals who have difficulties using the phone because of a disability. The Missouri T.A.P. for Telephone program is designed to provide a full range of adaptive equipment to meet the needs of individuals with all types of disabilities. The T.A.P. program is administered by Missouri Assistive Technology. Access II is a T.A.P. certified demonstration site and staffs a T.A.P.- T certified agent to assist you.
Do you have a vision, hearing, cognitive, and/or mobility impairment that enables you to utilize a standard telephone? You may be eligible to receive a FREE T.A.P. phone.
The Missouri T.A.P. program
* You must be a Missouri resident
* Have telephone service in your home
* Have an annual household income under $60,000 for two people; with $5,000 being added for each additional dependent
A certified T.A.P. agent will demonstrate the T.A.P. phones for your specific needs and ensure the T.A.P. phone will meet your communication goal. Once demonstration and application are completed and approved your T.A.P. phone will be delivered to your residence. Individuals may qualify for a new T.A.P. phone very four years and T.A.P. phones will be under warranty for repairs.
T.A.P. for Internet
Missouri's Telecommunication Access Program (TAP-I) provides at no cost to the consumer, the adaptive computer equipment and training needed for basic access to the Internet and e-mail in the home. The T.A.P. program is administered by Assistive Technology. Access II is a T.A.P. certified demonstration site and staffs a T.A.P.-I certified agent to assist you with providing consumer support to applicants in determining the adaptive computer equipment needed for Internet access.

* Have a computer in your home
* Have an annual household income under $60,000 for two people; with $5,000 being added for each additional dependent
Once a completed and signed application is received by TAP-I there are several follow-up steps, which can occur depending on the information provided on the application form. The applicant will be contacted to inform them of the follow-up steps when an application is received. Once it has been determined what adaptive equipment is needed by the applicant, the equipment is ordered and shipped directly to their home address. The applicant then has the responsibility to register the equipment. TAP-I will provide upgrades to the adaptive equipment.
